Cyprus Announces 500 Additional Digital Nomad Visas

On Wednesday 26th March 2025, the Migration Department of the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection has announced the reopening of applications for residence permits under the "Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa" Scheme.

Objective: The scheme aims to enhance Cyprus's position as a hub for electronic services by attracting non-EU and non-EEA nationals. These individuals will be allowed to reside in Cyprus while providing information technology services to companies or clients located abroad.

Eligibility Criteria: Non-EU or non-EEA nationals who:

  • Can perform work remotely using telecommunications technology.
  • Are employed by a company registered abroad, allowing for location-independent work, or are self-employed, offering services remotely to clients abroad.
  • Can demonstrate a stable and sufficient monthly net income of at least €3,500 (after deductions of contributions and taxes).

Benefits: Successful applicants of the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa program will enjoy several significant benefits:

  • Right to reside in Cyprus for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years.
  • Right of residence for family members (spouse/partner and underage children) for the same duration as the Digital Nomad, without the right to employment or to perform economic activity in Cyprus.
  • If residing in Cyprus for one or more periods totaling over 183 days within the same tax year, they will be considered tax residents of Cyprus, provided they are not tax residents in any other country.

Processing Time: The Migration Department has committed to an efficient application processing time, with examinations typically completed within 5 to 7 weeks. This streamlined process ensures that applicants can quickly begin their new chapter in Cyprus.

Our Services: To assist applicants through the visa process, a range of comprehensive support services are available. These services include:

  • Advising on requirements;
  • Preparing the application and supporting documents;
  • Accompanying you to the Migration Department for biometric submission;
  • Submitting the application on your behalf and following up until your residence card is issued.
